Terms of Service
Last updated 16 September 2026
These terms cover what happens when you ask YD Travel to book a flight for you: how our prices work, what happens on your card, and who is responsible for what. They are written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
Who we are
YD Travel is a travel agency. We arrange and issue your ticket for you. We are not an airline and we do not operate any flight. The airline that carries you is responsible for the flight itself, under its own conditions of carriage.
In these terms, “we” and “us” means YD Travel, and “you” means the person who sends a booking request.
How booking works
This website searches for flights and shows you prices. Nothing is booked on the website itself. Sending the form is a request: our team then confirms the seat with the airline, books it and issues your ticket. Your booking is confirmed only once the ticket has been issued and we have sent you the confirmation. We aim to reply within 24 hours.
Prices and seats change all the time. The price you request is the one from your search, and some prices can only be requested for a limited time afterwards. If that time has passed, the site will ask you to search again.
- If we cannot book the flight at the price you were shown, we release the hold on your card and you pay nothing.
- If we can offer you a different flight or price instead, we book it only if you agree. A higher price needs a new hold on your card.
Prices
- Prices are in US dollars and include all taxes and carrier-imposed fees.
- Our prices are shown in whole US dollars. Where a price works out to dollars and cents, we round it up to the next dollar. The hold on your card is for exactly the price shown.
- The price shown is the total for everyone on the booking. If more than one person is travelling, each traveller's share is that total divided evenly between them.
- The prices we show are set by us and include our charge for arranging your ticket. We do not add a separate booking or service fee on top: the price shown is the whole amount you pay us for the ticket.
- Every traveller is priced as an adult, aged 12 and over. If anyone travelling is under 12, speak with a YD Travel Rep before you send a request.
- Your price covers what the airline's fare includes. Whether checked bags, seat selection and other extras are part of that depends on the airline and the fare. Airline fees for bags and other extras may apply; the airline's website lists its bag allowance and fees.
Savings and comparisons
Some flights show a saving or a comparison next to our price. The wording tells you what it is measured against.
- “You save” means the airline selling that same trip was charging more for it when you searched. That airline price is shown, and the saving is the difference between it and our price.
- “Less than comparable flights” (or “comparable round trips”) appears where we do not have the airline's live price for that exact flight. It shows how much less our price is than the cheapest comparable trip in the same search.
A comparable trip is one from the same search that we can book for you: same day, same cities, any airline, all in the cabin you searched, no more stops, no more than 1 hour longer (or 10% longer, if that is more), and with a flat bed on the long flight if this trip has one. We compare with the price we show for that trip, which is not the airline's price for the flight you are looking at.
A few flights are compared instead with an airline's listed fare for that route and date, or with the cheapest trip we found on that route in the same cabin. The flight's details say what it was compared with.
The fare or trip we compare with may not be the same kind of ticket as yours. Your ticket may be bought at an agent discount, or issued as separate one-way tickets (see below), and its baggage, change and refund rules can differ from those of the fare or trip it is compared with.
If the difference would be small, we show the flight at the airline's price, rounded up to the next dollar (or at the comparable price), and make no saving or comparison claim. Comparisons use prices from your search; a listed fare shows the date it was last checked. Airline prices change, so none of these figures is a promise about what anyone will charge later.
Your card: holds and charges
When you send a request, we place an authorisation hold on your card for the price shown. A hold sets the money aside; it does not take it. Your statement may show it as pending.
Your bank may ask you to confirm it is you, on our page or in your banking app. The hold is placed only if that check succeeds. If the check is not completed, or the card is declined, nothing is held or charged, and we will contact you about payment.
- We charge your card only after your ticket has been issued.
- For your booking, we never charge more than the amount held. Anything that costs more, such as a different flight or a later change, needs your agreement and a new payment.
- If we cannot book your flight, we release the hold and you pay nothing.
- A hold we do not use ends on its own, normally within seven days. Your bank decides exactly when the pending amount disappears from your statement.
If your card is not in US dollars, your bank may add its own currency conversion charges.
Card payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor. Your card number goes straight to Stripe; we never see it or store it. Stripe tells us the card brand, the last four digits and the expiry month and year, and we keep those with your booking.
If paying online does not work for you, speak with a YD Travel Rep and we can take your booking over the phone.
Agent fares
Many of our prices come from agent discounts: fares open to us as a travel agency rather than on the airline's own website. A ticket bought that way can carry stricter change, cancellation and refund rules than the same flight bought direct, and its baggage allowance can differ. If those rules matter to you, ask us before you send your request. If the airline cancels or significantly changes your flight, your refund rights under Changes, cancellations and refunds still apply.
Some flights on our site have no live airline price for that exact flight (see Savings and comparisons). Seats on these can go quickly, so we confirm the seat is still there before we book. If it has gone and we cannot book the flight at the price you were shown, we release the hold and you pay nothing.
Trips on separate tickets
Some round trips and multi-city trips are issued as separate one-way tickets, sometimes with different airlines, and each ticket has its own rules. Because the tickets are not linked, a delay or cancellation on one does not protect the others: if one flight is disrupted, the airline on another ticket does not have to change or refund it. Your refund rights under Changes, cancellations and refunds still apply to the ticket with the cancelled or changed flight.
The flight's details do not always say when this applies. If it matters to you, ask us before you send your request.
Travellers, names and documents
Give us each traveller's name exactly as it appears on the passport or ID they will travel with. Tickets are issued to that name, and most cannot be corrected once issued; some can only be fixed by cancelling and rebooking at a new price.
The request form takes one traveller's details. If more people are travelling, we will ask you for theirs before we book. If you book for other people, you confirm that they have agreed to it and that you may give us their details.
Each traveller is responsible for holding a valid passport, visas and any health documents their trip requires. We are glad to point you to the official sources, but we cannot guarantee entry to any country.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
If you change your mind before your ticket is issued, tell us straight away. If we have not issued it yet, we release the hold and you pay nothing.
If you want to change or cancel a ticket once it is issued, the airline's fare rules (or, for an agent fare, the rules of the ticket we buy) decide whether you can, whether any money comes back, and at what cost. Many discounted tickets cannot be refunded, or cost extra to change. If those rules matter to you, ask us about them before you send your request.
We will help with changes and cancellations you ask for. If one costs anything, whether it is the airline's charge or a fee of ours for handling it, we will tell you the amount before we make the change, and you can decline. If a refund is due under the rules, we will tell you how much you will get back before we cancel.
If the airline cancels, significantly delays or significantly changes your flight on a trip to, from or within the United States, and you decide not to travel rather than accept a different flight or other offer, you are entitled to a refund. A significant change is, for example, one where you would leave at least 3 hours earlier or arrive at least 3 hours later than planned (6 hours for an international trip), from or to a different airport, with an extra connection, or in a lower cabin.
- Ask us, and we refund what you paid us for the affected ticket, taxes and fees included (or for the part of it you have not used), to the card you paid with.
- This applies to tickets bought at an agent discount too.
- We refund promptly, within the time US Department of Transportation rules require, and we charge no fee for it.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for arranging your booking accurately, for acting on your instructions with reasonable care, and for doing what these terms say we will do.
We are not responsible for what airlines and airports do: delays, cancellations, schedule changes, denied boarding, baggage, or the conduct of the flight. The airline answers for those under its conditions of carriage and the law. We will help where we can, and your refund rights under Changes, cancellations and refunds still apply. We are also not responsible for problems caused by traveller details that were wrong or incomplete when they were given to us.
Your information
When you send a request, we collect:
- the traveller's legal name, date of birth and sex as shown on their travel document, plus a middle name and frequent flyer number if you give them;
- your email address and mobile number, and any note you write to us;
- the flight and price you chose;
- from Stripe, your card's brand, last four digits and expiry month and year (never the full card number).
When you search or send a request, our site also records your internet (IP) address for a short time, to stop automated misuse. Searching does not ask for your name.
How we use it: to book and manage your trip, to contact you about it, to take payment, to keep our business records, and to protect the site from misuse.
Who we share it with, only as needed for those purposes:
- airlines and the reservation systems we use to issue tickets;
- Stripe, to handle your card payment and any check your bank asks for;
- the companies that host our website and handle our email (Google provides our email), so your request reaches our team;
- the companies that supply our fares and seat availability, which receive the details of your search (such as the route, dates, cabin and number of travellers) but not your name or contact details;
- anyone we are required by law to share it with.
Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when you visit. Airline logos in the results are loaded from our fare supplier's servers, which also receive your IP address. Stripe's card field may use cookies of its own to help prevent fraud. We use no advertising or analytics trackers. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it: we keep booking records, including copies in our email, after your trip, for our accounts and in case of changes, refunds or disputes. The IP address records are cleared automatically after a short time. To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it where we do not need to keep it, email us at the address below.
If something goes wrong
Please talk to us first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly: email us or speak with a YD Travel Rep, give your booking reference, and tell us what happened. We will work with you to put it right.
If we still cannot agree, these terms are governed by the law that applies where YD Travel has its place of business, and either of us may take the dispute to a court or other body that can hear it.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived or limited by agreement. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of this page will change when we do. The terms on this page when you send a request are the ones that apply to that booking.
